The Art of Display: Frama Rivet Shelves

Curating the Space
Michelle shared that when it came to placement, she wanted to combine both sizes and offset them for a balanced yet dynamic look. This corner of the living room benefits from beautiful natural light streaming through high windows, and the linear design of the shelves plays with the light and shadow throughout the day.
Furniture configurations shift from time to time, so ensuring flexibility was key. The lower shelf needed to be positioned high enough to accommodate seating beneath it. The spacing between the shelves and their offset alignment were also carefully planned—precision was essential. A newly acquired laser level provided the perfect tool for achieving the right balance.
Bring it to Life
One of the things most loved about these shelves is their ability to hold a mix of objects, books, and art. Styling them has been such a joy, bringing together favourite pieces in a way that feels harmonious and intentional. A cohesive palette, natural materials, varied textures, and sculptural forms in different heights and groupings create visual balance—layering interest without overwhelming the space.
A Perfect Fit
Since installing the shelves, every visitor has commented on how seamlessly they integrate with the rest of the room. Initially, there was some concern that the raw aluminium might feel too industrial or heavy, but the finish is softer than expected, and it reflects the light beautifully.
The shelves tie in effortlessly with wood furniture, echoing the small silver accents dotted throughout the space. They bring a subtle yet striking texture to the room, enhancing the overall sense of cohesion. Functional, sculptural, and endlessly versatile, they’ve quickly become one of the favourite elements in the home.
Reworking the display will undoubtedly happen time and time again—because the joy of design is in the ever-evolving process.
